History of Bodine Baptist Church
In the Spring of 1945, a small band of people felt led of God to begin holding regular services in view of establishing another New Testament Baptist Church. With authority from the Hudson Avenue Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, the Mission began as The Bodine City Baptist Church. It’s first meeting house was a small one room building with a dirt floor. As the years passed, and being organized into an Independent Baptist Church, the Church moved it’s building to 2727 SE 59th, which was it’s location until March of 1975, when complete new church facilities were dedicated to the Lord. These facilities, located at 3501 SE 59th, include an auditorium with seating for 400; a lovely nursery department with a room for toddlers; a full-departmentalized Sunday School; and class rooms which are graded. These facilities are located on a 8 1/4 acre site which allows for future church growth.
Through these years since the Bodine Baptist Mission was started, God has wonderfully blessed the work of the Church. Not only has the Church enjoyed a steady growth, but the ministry has reached into the far corners of the world through missionary work.
Today, God is blessing the ministry of Bodine Baptist Church and the future looks bright. Until Jesus comes again, Bodine Baptist Church will do all she can to bring glory to His Name by Holding Forth the Word of Life.
